Monthly Meetups

A unique and easy way to connect with others who have survived or lost loved ones in a truck crash. Opportunities to learn from a range of guest speakers, including:

  • Top officials at the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), the federal agency responsible for overseeing truck safety in the U.S.,

  • A bereavement specialist who focused on coping with grief during the holidays,

  • Survivor and family advocates who have committed time and effort to enact changes that make our roads safer.

Bereavement Groups:

  • Capital Caring Health grief counselors provide a variety of services that we hope will address your needs. These services include telephone support or ZOOM video calls, short-term individual or family grief counseling, resources for families with children, as well as support groups and workshops.

  • HealGrief is a 501(c)3 non-profit, is a social support network connecting grieving individuals to others while providing the tools and resources to guide one's journey with grief into a healthy post bereavement growth. Everything they do is inspired by their core belief that no one should ever grief alone.

    • Actively Moving Forward® (AMF), a HealGrief® program, provides communities for grieving individuals wanting to connect, be heard, and feel understood to like-minded individuals who understand their grief journey.

  • The Dougy Center is a non-profit with a mission to provide support in a safe place where children, teens, young adults and their families grieving a death can share their experiences.

  • Elizabeth Kübler Ross Foundation is a non-profit organization inspired by the life of psychiatrist, humanitarian, and hospice pioneer Dr. Elisabeth Kübler-Ross. It’s in the spirit of embracing all of life — which includes death — that they further her mission and vision through collaborations, education, and advocacy.

  • MISS Foundation is an international 501(c)3, volunteer based organization providing C.A.R.E. [counseling, advocacy, research, and education] services to families experiencing the death of a child.

  • Open to Hope is a non-profit with a mission to provide an online forum to support people who have experienced loss: to help them cope with their pain, heal their grief and invest in their future. Their website is an online forum where people can share inspirational stories of loss and love.

  • Bereaved Parents of the USA is a non-profit with a mission to help grieving parents and families rebuild their lives after the death of a child.

  • Wendt Center for Loss and Healing is a non-profit that helps people in the Greater Washington D.C. area rebuild a sense of safety and hope after experiencing a loss, life-threatening illness, violence or other trauma.
