About Lisa, Callie, and Cal
The Balsizers were a close-knit, loving family. Lisa Balsizer, 54, was a nurse who was universally adored by her patients. For over 46 years, Cal, 65, worked for Chrysler Auto in Perrysburg, and he enjoyed farming, hunting, and bowling. Callie, 21, loved going to concerts with her sister, Jessica.
Crash Description
On August 3rd, 2018, a horrific truck crash on I-280 claimed the lives of Lisa and Callie; Cal was taken to St. Vincent’s in Toledo with severe burns & broken bones. Cal had second degree burns on his thighs & third degree burns from the waist up, including his face along with a broken arm & multiple broken ribs. He was placed into an induced coma to keep him from suffering from the pain & suffered many strokes while battling his injuries. He was in the ICU for over two weeks before succumbing to his injuries & passing away on August 19th, 2018 with his daughter, Jessica, by his side.
Life After the Crash
After the crash, Jessica has been forced to navigate life without her family. She strives to remember her family every day.
