Source: NHTSA Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS), 2024 Initial Release — official accident.csv, vehicle.csv, and person.csv files. "Large truck" = FARS BODY_TYP codes 60–67, 71, 72, 78 (single-unit straight trucks, truck-tractors, and medium/heavy trucks >10,000 lbs GVWR). 4,841 of 4,850 truck-involved fatal crashes had valid coordinates and are mapped. Congressional districts are 118th Congress boundaries (2024 election); 49 crashes near a boundary edge used nearest-district fallback. DOT/carrier numbers are as reported by police at the crash scene (FARS MCARR_ID) and may be misrecorded, outdated, or absent — treat as investigative leads, not verified registration. Ages, sex, and vehicle type of those killed are from person-level FARS records. Figures may shift slightly when NHTSA issues the Final Release (~12–15 months after Initial Release).
